Best Stationary Bike
- An exercise bicycle or bike, or stationary bicycle, or Exercycle is a device with saddle, pedals, and some form of handlebars arranged as on a bicycle, but used as exercise equipment rather than transportation.
- "Stationary Bike" is a novella written by Stephen King, which was originally published in the fifth edition of From the Borderlands in 2003. It was recently released as part of King's 2008 short story anthology, Just After Sunset.
Project 366 - 2008 018/366
Friday, Jan 18 - 18/366
The scene in Grand Central Terminal this morning is one promoting working out and charity. For 24 hours (January 18-19), GST is host to Saints and Spinners - the 24-hour spin party and benefit to help Dr. Mehmet Oz's foundation, HealthCorps. The music is blasting, celebrities are everywhere - and best of all, some serious money is being raised to fight teen obesity.
Town Sports International, a BrandBuzz client, is looking for a few (thousand) good men and women. You know them as New York Sports Clubs, with over 100 locations around the New York area.
Every hour, a new set of 100 riders will spin along with one of New York Sports Clubs' top instructors, plus a celebrity guest rider. There will even be an elite team of six riders trying to break the Guinness World Record for most distance traveled in 24 hours.
If you are in the area, stop by to get your heart pumping and raise money for a good cause. So whether you want to ride during the rush hour...or wait until the midnight hour, you won't want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime event. It only costs a $100 to help out a great cause (maybe you can get your friends to ride along...or even sponsor you). And 100% of all net proceeds go directly to HealthCorps.
20080627: Weight Graph so Far
My overall weight loss was more or less static over the last week. Well, I am down about another 5 lbs from my high since the last graph, but as you can see had a major spike up during this week. I was eating the same (or better) during this time, and was exercising faithfully (average 30 minutes stationary or outdoor bike per day). My best guess is when I took some allergy pills early in the week (which mention "weight gain" as a side effect) that it caused me to gain or retain. Since I stopped taking them (Wednesday), my weight resumed its downward march.
I am glad the overall trend line still looks more or less the same, even accounting for this variation. Hopefully, next week will be better... or smoother, graph wise anyway. :-)
